THe perfect Fit // Sizing your talismans
Precision for the Path Ahead.
A piece of jewelry should feel like a second skin—a steady companion that moves with you. Because our pieces are hand-forged and many stones cannot be resized, taking a moment to find your true fit ensures your talisman stays secure on the journey. Use our guide below to measure with confidence.
How to measure your Ring size at home
-
The "Paper" Method: Wrap a thin strip of paper or non-stretchy string around the base of your intended finger. Mark the spot where it overlaps, then measure that distance in millimeters (mm) with a ruler.
Existing Ring Method: Take a ring you already own that fits the same finger comfortably. Measure the inside diameter (the distance across the center of the ring, not including the metal) in millimeters.
The Knuckle Factor: Ensure your measurement is large enough to slide over your knuckle with slight resistance, but snug enough not to fall off.
-
-
Size Up for Width: Because wide bands (usually >6mm) cover more of your finger, many people find they are more comfortable by sizing up a half size from their normal thin-band measurement.
Natural Fluctuations: Measure your finger at the end of the day when it is at its largest. Avoid measuring when you are cold, as fingers can shrink up to half a size.
Accuracy First: For 100% certainty, you can purchase an adjustable finger gauge for under $5 or visit a local jeweler to be sized professionally.
A Note on Permanent Paths // Resizing Policy
Because our pieces are handcrafted around the unique geometry of each natural stone, most of our rings—including our Jade and Lapis collections—cannot be resized.
Metals can be forged, but a stone’s spirit is set once it finds its home in a hand-finished setting. Attempting to alter the band can put undue pressure on the gemstone, risking its structural integrity. We encourage you to measure twice and follow our guide above to ensure your talisman is a perfect match from the very first step.
Cuffs vs Bangles // Finding Your bracelet size
Finding the right fit for a Cuff versus a Bangle requires two different techniques. While a cuff is measured by the circumference of your wrist, a bangle is determined by the size of your hand to ensure it can slide over your knuckles.
-
Cuffs have an opening (gap) and are designed to sit snugly just above the wrist bone.
How to Measure: Wrap a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper around your arm where you want the cuff to sit. Mark the overlap and measure the length against a ruler.
The Fit: A cuff should be snug but comfortable. Most standard cuffs feature a 1-inch to 1.5-inch gap to allow you to "roll" the piece onto your wrist.
Adjustment Tip: While many silver cuffs can be gently squeezed for a custom fit, avoid repeated bending, which can weaken the metal over time
-
Because closed bangles must slide over your hand, your hand circumference—not your wrist—is the key measurement.
Tuck Your Thumb: Bring your thumb and pinky finger together as if you were putting on a bangle.
Measure the Widest Point: Wrap your measuring tape around the widest part of your hand, usually across the knuckles and the base of the thumb.
Find Your Diameter: If the sizing is listed by diameter, divide your hand circumference by 3.14.
-
Stacking: If you plan to stack multiple pieces, consider sizing up for the piece that will sit higher up your forearm.
The Two-Finger Rule: For a comfortable bangle fit, you should be able to slide two fingers between the jewelry and your wrist.
Between Sizes?: Always size up for a more relaxed, "ramble" vibe, or size down if you prefer a secure, "riot" fit.
